🌸 Wrapping up April 🌸

A field of yellow daisies.
Yellow Daisies

Hello! I can't believe its actually been a whole month since I went live and started blogging! Thank you for subscribing and being a part of this. It's been a real journey, and I won't say it was crystal clear all the way or still is, but I do have this nagging feeling (on the best way possible!) that this is just something I want to keep at. So here goes! We've spent the last month talking about crochet related things without focussing on any particular technique, per se. I've been trying to work out how I'd like for this to pan out. Since I have a few areas that I focus on it terms of work - mainly, crochet and its various aspects, needle felt art, and drawing - one option is that I base each month on one technique and explore it as a theme, so to speak. Personally, I have multiple projects that span across all my techniques that I work on simultaneously. Remember: this is also my main source of my livelihood, so I'm working on commissions for clients; creating products for my Etsy store; and building my body of artwork to have an exhibition, hopefully in the not-too-distant future. The second option is to fashion each post with whatever I currently have on the work table for the week. This means that the output will be a little more mixed in terms of techniques being covered and a little more varied; but each post will have a tag, so you can also just look up a tag to find all the posts of the area you are interested in. It will then become more like a live conversation I usually have running in my head regarding the project I'm working on at the time. So each week, the blog post will basically cover the technique in hand. Additionally, I shall keep posting the historical posts I've been writing up on the blog for those of you who are interested in that aspect of the craft or the technique.

The way I see it is that I would really like for this to become a space where we can come together and talk about the actual act of making, and sharing knowledge of the fields we know so help our own repertoires grow. I would also want this blog to be something of use to you, so I am going to be putting up little videos and tutorials of the techniques I use. I will also soon be releasing my own patterns (yay!) So! Here's my call to action this week: please write to me, or leave a comment on the post, about what you are interested in, and what you would like to read about. If this is something that turns up in your inbox at the end of every week, what is the food for thought you'd like to mull over for the weekend? And, if you have a preference for the options I've written about so far, I'd love to hear it! This is as much for you as it is for me, so please pen down your thoughts and let me know.

Till then, ta!

I think I would definitely like to hear about the history of the craft…. As important the process and pattern, and your take on it.
